2025

Ken Nicol

The Scourie Weeked - paddling and walking. A first west coast paddle for many. During the weekend the group managed to paddle around Handa and paddle from Kylesku to the waterfall. All in near perfect conditions.


2024

John Speirs

Weekend paddling trip based at Tongue. A first trip for many. Explored Rabbit Isles and then out to Eilean nan Ron. Near perfect conditions. The second day was a slightly more challenging day and involved a smaller group going out from Portskerra for an explore.

Iain Baikie

For his evening paddle between Freswick Bay and Duncansby Stacks. The highlight of the evening was the Orca “attack” on the group in Freswick Bay. Photos of the encounter were taken by individuals from the shore and reached the media.

For his Glen Afric weekend trip. Whilst on loch and river, sea kayaks were used!

2019

Ken Nicol

Ken was the co-organiser   for a weekend joint clubs (NESKy; Inverness and Pentland) trip. Day 1 involved a paddle from Skirza round Duncansby Head to Stroma and back to John O Groats. Day 2 was a shorter paddle from Thurso to Dwarwick due to the weather. Around 41 paddlers took part over the weekend.

2018

Ben MacGregor

Ben  organised a weekend  paddle in Loch Erribol trip staying at Freisgill bothy. Comments included “Beautiful scenery, good company and accommodation.”

2017

John Speirs

John organised a 3 day paddle from Fort William to Inverness. 8 club members (John, Nancy, Mike, Neil, Gary, Marcella, Christine and Emma) participated on this journey. For most it was their first kayak camping trip from sea kayaks Whilst technically  not a sea trip, sea kayaks were used and water conditions on Loch Ness can be similar to the sea.  

2016

Ken Nicol

Ken organised many trips during the year. The trips were well attended by Club members. The most memorable was the trip around Dunnet Head in very calm conditions. The group of 12 were able to touch the most Northerly point of the UK mainland. For some paddlers this was only their third sea trip.

For the  trip to the stacks of Duncansby and around to John O Groats The trip apparently had some interesting conditions!
